aQuantum and University of Coimbra become partners. In this case, University of Coimbra has reached an agreement of two partnerships with aQuantum, Academic Partner and Research Partner.

The fundamental objective of the reseach partnership agreement between aQuantum and University of Coimbra is the reseach in the field of Quantum Software Engineering and Programming. The first joint research collaboration will be around Quantum Programming and Reasoning, the study of potential and implications of the quantum programming under the lenses of Software Engineering.

In the Academic Partner agreement, University of Coimbra will promote aQuantum training activities and quantum literacy of Software Engineers and Programmers in Portugal and the Portuguese-speaking world, aligned with the Tavera Manifesto objectives.

University of Coimbra is a Portuguese public and autonomous institution of higher education created in 1290 and classified as UNESCO World Heritage in 2013. It comprises 10 research and education units (8 Faculties: Humanities, Law, Medicine, Technology and Sciences, Pharmacy, Economy, Psychology and Education, Sports Sciences and Physical Education; plus the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research and the College of Arts), as well as two research units: the European Judicial University Court and the Institute of Nuclear sciences applied to health. The scientific research activities concerning the University of Coimbra are dispersed through more than 30 research and development units.
