CaixaBank, leading financial group in retail banking in Spain, has selected seven innovative start-ups to develop fintech projects. These companies, from Madrid, Seville, Israel, and Austria, were chosen from among more than 200 from 28 countries through the CaixaBank Fintech by Insomnia open innovation program.

The selected start-ups have been: GK8, Bsurance, Onyze, aQuantum, Taiger, Smartbiometrik and Inspiration-Q.

The selection process was based on the approach of innovative projects to respond to the different strategic challenges for CaixaBank, such as contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), cybersecurity, the transformation of the banking operating model in real time, the strengthening of customer relations, competitiveness in an open banking environment and the adoption of a corporate culture aligned with technological transformation and new ways of working.

The chosen companies will receive training sessions, workshops, and specialized mentoring for five months and will develop pilots with the organisation.

In the case of aQuantum, the Proof of Concept (PoC) will be carried out with QuantumPath®, the platform for the development and life cycle of quantum algorithms and software applications. aQuantum is a Madrid-based company that provides tools, services and processes that enable the integration of hybrid quantum/classical information systems.
